Home Battery Installation in Massachusetts
Residential Battery Storage
Services for Massachusetts Households
Storms, snow loads and aging lines can knock out service across the Commonwealth. A home battery keeps the lights, heat controls and refrigerator running while you wait for the grid to return. Our certified crew sizes, wires and commissions the whole system.

HOW HOME BATTERIES WORK
What Is a Home Battery Installation
A home battery collects the surplus energy your panels produce in the afternoon and holds it until you need it. It ties into your main electrical panel and recharges on its own whenever your house is producing more than it uses.
If the grid drops out, the battery takes over within moments. You don’t flip any switches or reset anything.
WHY HOMEOWNERS ADD STORAGE
The Benefits of Home Battery Installation
A battery changes what your solar system, and your home, can do.
Essential circuits stay on through nor'easters and ice-storm outages
You use more of your own solar output instead of exporting it for bill credits
Earn an extra $0.04 per kWh on SMART 3.0 when a qualifying battery is paired with solar
Enroll in ConnectedSolutions and earn $275 per kW for supporting the grid on peak summer afternoons
You shield your household from rate increases for years to come
You may finance equipment and labor with the 0% Mass Save HEAT Loan
OUR INSTALLATION STANDARDS
What a Massachusetts Battery Installation Looks Like With Our Team
Storage touches your electrical panel, your inverter and your utility’s interconnection rules. Here is how we handle each of those.
Crew From Your Region
The people who walk your basement and quote the job are the ones who install it.
Trained Storage Specialists
Our NABCEP-certified installers are trained on battery systems and the details they require.
Fixed, Itemized Quote
Every line is spelled out before you agree. The figure we quote is the one you pay.
A 25-Year Warranty
Your battery is covered by our 25-year performance warranty.
Applications Done for You
We file electrical permits, utility interconnection and any incentive enrollment.
Remote Check-Ins
We watch your system’s data after install and tell you when something drifts.
Cold-Tested Hardware
We choose batteries that run reliably in unheated garages and winter basements.
Sized From Your Usage
We review your bills and critical loads before recommending a capacity.

RESILIENCE FOR THE COMMONWEALTH
How Home Storage Strengthens Massachusetts Communities
Winter storms and summer heat waves put real strain on New England’s grid. Outages get longer when everyone is waiting on the same crews.
Batteries in homes ease that strain. In ConnectedSolutions, your battery sends stored energy back to the grid during summer peaks, from 3 pm to 8 pm, which helps limit the use of the dirtiest peaking plants.
With solar, you also keep more of your own clean energy for the evening. Across a neighborhood, those shifts add up to cleaner air and a steadier grid.

BATTERY QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
What Massachusetts Homeowners Should Know Before Buying a Battery
We would rather you decide with the facts. These are the questions we hear most.
If my battery is enrolled in a utility program, will it still have charge when the power goes out?
Mostly yes. National Grid’s ConnectedSolutions events happen only from June 1 to September 30, between 3 pm and 8 pm, for no more than 3 hours at a time and no more than 60 times each summer. That leaves the battery with time to recharge between events. We also set a backup reserve so some charge is held back for outages.
Does the battery need an internet connection to work?
Backup operation during an outage doesn’t depend on Wi-Fi. Program enrollment does, though. ConnectedSolutions requires the storage system to stay online, because the utility sends event signals and reads performance data through it. We confirm your router coverage near the battery during the site visit.
Can a battery be added to solar panels that were installed years ago?
In most cases, yes. What matters is the type of inverter you have and how it communicates with the battery. Some older systems need an added or replacement inverter, and a few work best with a particular battery. We check this before we quote, so you aren’t charged for equipment you don’t need.
Will I still qualify if my electricity comes from a municipal light department?
It depends on the town. ConnectedSolutions is offered by National Grid and Eversource, so customers of municipal utilities can’t use it. Some municipal utilities run their own battery rebates. Tell us your town and we’ll check what your utility offers before we design anything.
Where in my house can the battery go, and who approves it?
Garages, basements and utility rooms are the usual spots, and some units can be mounted outside. The location has to meet the manufacturer’s temperature range and code clearances, and many Massachusetts basements are cold, so we measure first. The installation needs a local electrical permit and utility interconnection approval. We file both.
